I am a public health major from Chevy Chase, Maryland who enjoys yoga, dogs, drinking matcha, and investigative journalism. So grateful to be working with 15 strangers who became friends on current issues in Perugia, Italy and all over Europe!

Matt Hickey

I am from Chicago, Illinois and have been lucky enough to travel to many different cities throughout Europe this semester. I am a finance major and gained great interpersonal skills this semester through this journalism course.

Moien! I'm from Ridgefield, Connecticut and I love food, friends, and fun. This semester has been so awesome and I've made some amazing new friends. I've loved traveling and learning as a journalism student and can't wait to tell all our stories back in the US of A.

Hi! I’m a junior Marketing major from Cincinnati, OH. My passions are writing, fashion, singing, and my faith. Working on this project has given my writing a new sense of purpose as I have been working on content editing, a newfound skill!

I am a junior at Miami majoring in Economics from Youngstown, Ohio. I thoroughly enjoy spending time nature, meeting new people and traveling to new places all of which journalism gives you an opportunity to do.

Hi, I am currently a senior interdisciplinary business management major at Miami University, and I am from Long Island, New York. Through journalism has helped me develop various skills, the skill that I find most beneficial to me is how to develop questions to get the exact answer that you are searching for.

I am a junior at Miami University studying psychology and sociology. I have been fortunate enough to be traveling around Europe these past few months, meeting new people, and having new experiences.

Hi ! I’m Catie from Chicago, Illinois, and I’m a junior finance major at Miami University. However, after practicing journalism the passed few months in foreign countries, I’ve gained a lot of new skills and have a newfound interest in the journalism field. I am grateful for my travel experiences and using a journalistic mindset through new cultural encounters and meeting a lot of interesting people.

I am Zach Schnelle from Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a third year international business major at Ohio University. I am currently studying abroad in Luxembourg for my entire third year. I am not the most journalistically inclined, however, my research and writing skills allowed me to help create this project. I thoroughly enjoy music, my friends, food, different languages, and video games.

Hi my name is Andrew Brune, I am from Baltimore, Maryland and am currently a junior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I am studying Sports Management with a dual concentration in Marketing and Management. I have been extremely fortunate to have spent the last four months of my life exploring all over Europe. I do not consider myself especially journalistic, but I do love telling a good story. Through this project I and my classmates have been able to delve deeper into Perugia, Italy 10 years after the Amanda Knox murder investigation began. It was an extremely interesting and unique experience I will not soon forget.

Hello world :) I’m from Minneapolis Minnesota, and even after traveling the world I fully believe it’s the best city in the world. I am an international studies major, with minors in French, Portuguese, marketing, and graphic design. I absolutely loved traveling Italy with 15 people that I met only months ago, and now can’t imagine my life without them. Molto Bene!!

Hello! My name is Gator Keighley and I am a junior at Miami University studying finance. I am from Cincinnati, OH. My role in the Perugia project covered student culture where we compared foreign and local students studying in Perugia. During our class meetings and time in Perugia, I got a taste of life as a foreign correspondent placed in an unfamiliar surrounding and learned how to adapt to a new setting before and during my research.

My name is Mason Eagle, I am a Junior at Miami University majoring in Architecture. I chose Journalism 101 before coming to Luxembourg because I wanted to improve my abilities to comprehend and write about critical issues in today’s society. This course definitely helped me accomplish this with reading, class presentations, and real journalistic experience in the field. I would recommend this class to anyone, especially those who wish to engage in the significant issues of our time.

Annie-Laurie Blair

Annie-Laurie Blair has taught multimedia journalism at Miami University of Ohio, USA, since 2004 – including study abroad locations in Luxembourg, Italy, and Costa Rica. She was a journalist at five American daily newspapers and one news magazine before joining Miami. La signora sta imparando l'italiano e non sta andando bene.
